Acting On Stage

Mondays | 4:00-5:00 pm
Instructor: Hannah Rhodes

Stretch and grow your natural talent by learning the fundamental tools it takes to be a successful, professional actor. In this class we will explore script analysis, stage presence, acting terminology, physicality, characterization, and improvisation to advance each student’s confidence and creativity. Let’s review the basics and learn how to bring your uniqueness to every story.

This class will end by performing a showcase for parents and friends during the last week of the course.

Imagination Station

Tuesday | 3:45-4:30 pm
Instructor: Erin Walker

Imagination meets movement in our preschool musical theater class. Children aged 3-5 will play musical theater games that incorporate singing, dancing, and acting. Our team will help aspiring performers establish the building blocks of the performing arts, foster creativity, and nurture self-esteem – all while having fun!

This class will end by performing a showcase for parents and friends during the last week of the course.

Musical Theatre Dance

Tuesday | 4:00-5:00 pm
Instructor: Kendall Lee

Musical theatre dance is less of a particular style, and more of a description of dancing that is rooted in the diverse history of Broadway musicals. Students will learn dance technique while incorporating character building and use movement to tell a story. The musical theatre dance class will incorporate a mix of dance styles including, jazz and lyrical/contemporary.

This class will end by performing a showcase for parents and friends during the last week of the course.

Stage Makeup

Wednesday | 4:00-5:00 pm
Instructor: Lily Glass

In this class, we will provide in-depth, hands-on learning in all styles of makeup artistry and SFX. Students will learn character makeup, appliance fabrication, and application techniques to create any transformation required for the creative development of the story written for theatrical production, tv, or film.

This class will end by creating a portfolio to present as a “sharecase’ for parents and peers during the last week of the course.

This class has at one-time supplies charge of $80 for your own Ben Nye Makeup Kit to keep after the session.

Breaking Down The Song

Wednesday | 4:30-5:30 pm
Instructor: Morgan Smith

Students in this class will be taught various methods to make a song truly come to life. Including scene work with peer-level partners, integrating the technique of emotional memory, and breaking down the lyrical content into monologue form, students will gain the skills necessary to interpret and execute a song to its fullest potential, whether prepping for an audition or preparing for a role. Throughout the semester, students will sing songs of their own choosing, as well as being assigned solos and duets from varying styles and genres of Musical Theatre.

This class will end by performing a showcase for parents and peers during the last week of the course.

The Actor's Toolbox

Thursday | 4:00-5:00 pm
Instructor: Jacob Rowe

In this course, students will learn how to successfully select, investigate, prepare, and present themselves before, during and after an audition. Students will learn how to select audition materials appropriate to the individual performer and the specific audition call within the professional world of acting.

Students will also work on the following to have a well-rounded “toolbox”

Students will leave this class with the following:

– Multiple monologues
– Multiple audition songs that are cut the appropriate way for an accompanist
– A musical theatre audition book
– Multiple professional headshots with different looks
– A professional resume that can be edited
– & more

Students will participate in 3 mock auditions throughout the course with guest adjudicators

Eligibility: Anyone in 6th-12th Grade
