TECHNIQUE CLASSES

Classes meet from August 22 – December 15


STAGE MAKEUP 101 

Wednesday | 4:30pm-5:30pm

Eligibility: Anyone in 5th-12th Grade
Tuition:$300 [broken into 5 monthly payments of $60] + a one-time charge of $70 for your own Ben Nye Makeup Kit

In this class, we will provide in-depth, hands-on learning in all styles of makeup artistry and SFX. Students will learn character makeup, appliance fabrication, and application techniques to create any transformation required for the creative development of the story written for theatrical production, tv, or film.


Beginning Acting

Monday | 4:00pm-5:00pm

Eligibility: Anyone in 5th-12th Grade
Tuition:$300 [broken into 5 monthly payments of $60]

Students will be introduced to basic theatre terminology and etiquette. They will engage in various warm-ups and improvisational exercises to better enhance their physical awareness, concentration, imagination, and trust. Over the course, they will focus on selected partner scenes and monologues. These selections will help them develop a rehearsal process and refine their basic acting skills.


MUSICAL THEATRE DANCE 

Wednesday | 4:00pm-5:00pm

Eligibility: Anyone in 5th-12th Grade
Tuition:$300 [broken into 5 monthly payments of $60]

This MT Dance class will be crafted like a college course. It will incorporate technique work, physique training, across the floor, and some Musical Theater standard choreography (A Chorus Line, Chicago, Kinky Boots…), culminating in a semester showcase.


ACTING THROUGH SONG

Thursday | 4:30pm-5:30pm

Eligibility: Anyone in 7th-12th Grade
Tuition:$300 [broken into 5 monthly payments of $60]

Students in this class will be taught a variety of methods to make a song truly come to life. Including scene work with peer-level partners, integrating the technique of emotional memory, and breaking down the lyrical content into monologue form, students will gain the skills necessary to interpret and execute a song to its fullest potential, whether prepping for an audition or preparing for a role. Throughout the semester, students will sing songs of their own choosing, as well as being assigned solos and duets from varying styles and genres of Musical Theatre.
